Just Transition
iGDP is dedicated to promoting a just global transition in the face of climate change. We focus on advancing research and knowledge-sharing on energy transition experiences across Asia and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries, and devising metrics. Leveraging its longstanding expertise in low-carbon development and knowledge of China's subnational climate actions, iGDP employs a rigorous analytical framework to assess the emissions reduction outcomes and just transition impacts of policy measures in BRI countries. iGDP also provides policy recommendations aligned with local needs and facilitates the exchange of low-carbon development experiences among Global South countries. Through the Just Transition Observatory (JTO), a joint initiative with IE University, iGDP builds just transition readiness frameworks and fosters international cooperation.
