  • Energy Policy Simulator (EPS)

    EPS is a free, open-source system dynamics tool developed by Energy Innovation (EI) in the United States. This quantitative analysis tool simulates and evaluates the impacts of energy and climate policies.

    In 2017, EI partnered with China's National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) and the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission (ERI) to develop the first China-specific EPS model. Since 2021, iGDP has collaborated with EI to launch the EPS China iGDP 2024 online version.

    The CBAM-CST model is a multi-parameter, multi-scenario, and multi-issue dynamic calculation tool, structured around interrelated influencing factors and policy parameters defined by specific functional relationships. It is designed to systematically assess the impact of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on China's steel industry.

    The model consists of three core modules: CBAM cost dynamic calculation, low-carbon transition of China's steel industry, and inflation and exchange rate. It generates five key outputs for transition analysis.

  • China Regional Transition Outlook-EPS (CRTO-EPS)

    Building on the EPS Provincial Base Models, the iGDP modeling team has created the CRTO-EPS, a regional energy and emissions projection tool used to track green and low-carbon transition across provinces. The modeling system is powered by the iGDP Energy Database, which integrates data from government portals and industry associations' public disclosures.
