Industry is highly energy-intensive and remains heavily dependent on fossil fuels. Hard-to-abate industries such as steel, chemicals, and cement face significant decarbonization challenges, including high-temperature heat demand, process emissions, and long equipment replacement cycles. Accelerating industrial electrification and decarbonizing industrial heat are therefore critical to achieving a zero-carbon transition. iGDP tracks policy developments, analyzes emerging technologies, conducts case studies, and applies quantitative modeling to support the development of zero-carbon roadmaps for key industries.
